Frequently asked questions
Everything clients usually want to know before booking — how deposits work, what to expect, and how to look after the result.
Booking
How do I book an appointment?
Choose your service, pick an available date and time, enter your details and pay your deposit. You will receive a confirmation as soon as the deposit clears. The whole process takes a couple of minutes.
Do I need an account to book?
No. You can book as a guest with just your name, email and phone number. Creating an account is optional and only adds convenience — your appointment history, faster rebooking and loyalty points.
Why can't I see the time I want?
Only genuinely available slots are shown. If a time is missing it is either already booked, outside working hours, or too short for the service you selected once setup and buffer time are included.
Can I book more than one service in a visit?
Yes. Add-ons can be selected during booking, and the calendar automatically allows for the combined duration so you are not rushed.
How far in advance should I book?
Popular times — evenings and Saturdays — go first. Booking a week or two ahead gives you the widest choice, and regular clients usually book their next appointment before they leave.
Deposits & payment
Why is a deposit required?
The deposit holds your slot. As a single-artist studio, an unfilled appointment cannot be given to anyone else at short notice, so the deposit protects the time that has been reserved for you.
How much is the deposit?
The deposit is shown for each service before you confirm, and again on the payment summary. You will always see the exact amount before you pay anything.
Does the deposit come off my total?
Yes. The deposit is deducted from the price of your service — the balance is settled at your appointment.
Is my appointment confirmed before I pay?
No. Where a deposit is required, the appointment stays pending until payment succeeds. You will see the status change to confirmed, and receive a confirmation message, once it does.
How are card payments handled?
Payments are processed by a regulated payment provider on their own secure checkout. Card details are never entered on, sent to, or stored by this website.
What payment methods can I use?
The options available at checkout are shown during booking. If you need to arrange payment another way, message the studio before booking.
Cancellation & rescheduling
Can I reschedule my appointment?
Yes — get in touch as early as you can and we will move you to the next suitable slot. Notice periods and whether the deposit transfers are set out in the booking policy.
What if I need to cancel?
Let the studio know as soon as possible so the time can be offered to someone else. How deposits are treated on cancellation is set out in full in the cancellation policy.
What happens if I am running late?
Message the studio straight away. Short delays can often be absorbed, but appointments are booked back to back, so a late start may mean the service has to be shortened or rebooked. See the late arrival policy.
What counts as a no-show?
An appointment where the client does not attend and does not make contact. The no-show policy explains how this affects your deposit and future bookings.
Preparing for lashes
How should I prepare for a lash appointment?
Arrive with clean lashes and no eye makeup, mascara or oil-based products around the eyes. Remove contact lenses if you can wear glasses instead, and allow a little extra time so we can map the set properly.
Should I bring reference photos?
Yes, please do. Photos are the quickest way to agree on length, curl and density — even if the look is not achievable exactly, it tells us the direction you want.
Can I have lashes done if I wear contact lenses?
Generally yes, though it is more comfortable to remove them for the appointment. Mention it when you book so we can allow for it.
Lash aftercare
How do I look after my lashes?
Keep them dry for the first 24 hours, cleanse daily with a lash-safe foam cleanser, and brush them through gently each morning. Avoid oil-based products, waterproof mascara and lash curlers.
How long will my lashes last?
Extensions shed with your natural lash cycle, so the interval differs from person to person. Most clients book a refill within two to three weeks to keep the set looking freshly done.
When should I book a refill instead of a new set?
A refill is the right option while roughly half the extensions are still in place. Beyond that, a new full set gives a better result.
What if a lash feels uncomfortable?
Contact the studio rather than pulling at it. Do not try to remove extensions yourself — professional removal protects your natural lashes.
Preparing for brows
How should I prepare for a brow appointment?
Come with clean, product-free brows. If you are changing shape, let the hair grow for about two weeks beforehand — there is more to work with and the result lasts longer.
Should I avoid anything beforehand?
Avoid strong exfoliants and retinoids on the brow area for a few days before your appointment. Tell us when booking if you have ever reacted to a brow or lash treatment, or to hair dye.
Brow aftercare
How do I look after laminated brows?
Keep them completely dry for the first 24 hours, brush them upward daily to hold the shape, and use the nourishing oil provided to condition the hair. Avoid steam and heavy sweating on the first day.
How long does a brow tint last?
Tint fades gradually rather than all at once, and how quickly depends on your skin and routine. Most clients book a top-up alongside their next shaping appointment.
How often can I have lamination done?
Lamination is a chemical process, so it is spaced out to keep the hair in good condition — usually a matter of weeks rather than days. The right interval for your brows is discussed at your appointment.
Preparing for a tattoo
How should I prepare for a tattoo appointment?
Eat a proper meal beforehand and stay hydrated. Avoid alcohol for 24 hours before your appointment. Wear clothing that gives easy access to the placement area, and do not shave the area yourself unless asked to.
Do I need a consultation first?
Custom work always starts with a consultation so the design, size and placement are agreed before your tattoo appointment is confirmed. Small and fine-line pieces can often be booked directly.
What should I bring to a tattoo consultation?
Any reference images, even rough ones, plus a rough idea of placement and size. Mention any skin conditions or allergies so they can be taken into account.
Are there any age requirements?
Tattooing is subject to the minimum age set by law in the studio's location, and valid ID is required. The exact requirement and accepted forms of ID are set out in the tattoo consent information.
Tattoo aftercare
How do I look after a new tattoo?
Follow the written aftercare instructions you are given in the studio. In general: keep the area clean, avoid soaking it, do not pick or scratch while it heals, and keep it out of direct sun — using sun protection once it has healed.
How long does healing take?
Healing time varies from person to person and depends on placement and aftercare, so no fixed timeframe is promised here. Your aftercare sheet covers what to expect for your specific piece.
What if I have concerns while it heals?
Contact the studio and we will advise. If you have any signs of a medical problem, please speak to a doctor or pharmacist — we are not able to give medical advice.
Do you offer touch-ups?
Touch-ups are discussed once the tattoo has fully healed, since only then is the final result visible. Whether one is needed and any charge are covered at your appointment.
Location & the studio
Where is HMS Touch located?
The area is shown on the contact page. For privacy and security the full address is sent to you with your booking confirmation, along with directions and any access instructions.
Can I bring someone with me?
The studio is a small space set up for one client at a time. If you need to bring someone with you, please mention it when booking so it can be accommodated.
What are your opening hours?
Opening hours are listed on the contact page. Bookable times may be narrower than opening hours, so the booking calendar is always the accurate source.
Still have a question?
